Congratulations to the Baltz family!

Aside from my obsession with papercrafting, I've been doing a bit of knitting.  These are my third pair of booties... lots of girlfriends having babies these days.

This cute little box houses a yellow pair of non-gender booites, a onesie to match and burpie.  The booties and burpie were a breeze but the onesie was a little more daunting of a task for me... not sure I'll try applique anytime in the near future... it was hard to perfect for me... I'm a bit of a perfectionist I have to say and keeping those shapes straight (even after pinning) was hard and then trying to finagle this itty bitty onesie around my sewing machine... ughhh!

I hope Baby Baltz feels the love when wearing them.  A friend was looking at my ensemble and questioned the onesie... what is it?  Well, it resembles an elephant... or, yes, an anteater if you wish!!  :-}

Teacher Appreciation... End of School Year

So I missed Teacher Appreciation week which was the first week of May... I believe!  This is Renee's first year of school (well, preschool) so I need to get the hang of everything and when and what is done for holidays... there's a lot to be remembered!

I was at Trader Joes doing a little shopping and came across some schoolhouse alphabet cookies and bought them knowing Renee would get a kick out of them.  Epiphany... What a perfect fit for teacher appreciation gifts for the end of the year.  Renee's teachers are Miss Terry and Miss Jenny.

I bundled the cookies up in some cello bags, placed them in clear pails.  I found the T E A C H E R poem on the internet... changed a few lines to personalize it.

Felt Flowers using Cuttlebug

My latest attempt at something new... making some embellishments using my Cuttlebug and felt pieces.  I'm not sure what fate my mind has in store for these little softies just yet but I wanted to post them sooner than later.

All you do is cut small pieces of felt to fit your die, roll 'em through your diecut machine and voila!  I used the circle Nestibilities here!

Welcome Baby Niederwimmer

Welcome Grant Oliver Niederwimmer!!  He was born March 1, 2010!

My newest addiction addition is knitting!  I can't get enough of it... that's why my paper projects have slacked a bit.  I made this cute little fishie with little baby fingers in mind... oh what fun it will be to play with those flyaway gills.

I used I'm Here and Bundled in Love SU sets for this project and my Cuttlebug.  I picked up the satin ribbon at Hobby Lobby - they have some great satin ribbon right now by the yard.

Here is the final package!  I hope baby Niederwimmer has lots of fun playing with these gills as I had making them.  I think Nay Nay needs one for her knitted toy collection.

Everything Valentine

Better late than never... it's been awhile since I've posting anything.  I've had some projects just sitting out there waiting, waiting.  I made this card for January's card swap/stamp club.

Treat Cup Valentine Necklaces

Here are Renee's little Valentine treats that we dropped off at school today!

Renee was my little helper and manned the tape runner getting every little nook and cranny for optimum stickiness... we do not want these coming loose and m&ms running amok!

Mason Jar Pin Cushions

I made these mason jars for a friend of mine whose birthday was in January.  There's a few of us who always exchange crafty little ideas which is always a joy.

All you need to make some of your own is any mason jar of choice, these are the short squatty half pints from Ball, which I found at Walmart.  Then you'll need some fabric scraps big enough to cover the circumference of the lid to the jar + one inch all the way around for folding under.  You'll need some cardstock scrap, scissors, pen, cotton balls or batting and a hot glue gun.

The first thing you'll want to do is take the lid of the jar and trace onto a piece of cardstock and cutout.  This piece of cardstock will go over your glued piece once it's complete for a finsihed look when you open the jar.

Now, take the lid to your jar and place on top of your fabric piece and trace with your pen around the lid.  Then when cutting out make sure you cut about an inch or so out from your traced circle (you will need this extra to fold around your lid).  After your fabric has been cut out place cotton balls or batting inside the circle you drew on your fabric, about one or two layers of cotton balls should do.  Now place your lid on top of the cotton balls and then hot glue the fabric around the lid to secure.  You can now place your cardstock piece on top to finish off.

Hint:  Try not to get your hot glue all lumpy and clumpy.  This reeks havoc when you're all finished and trying to screw the lid on.

Let me know if these directions are whacky... sometimes when you're writing directions down they make sense to you because you've already made the thing but when looking at them for the first time you might think, What? and then Huh?

Here is the gable box that stored these cute little jars:

Forgotten Posts

Oops, I almost forgot to share a few things I made for holiday gifts:

The gable box was purchased on Papertreyink.com along with the "merry Christmas" message.  The paper is Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses.

I altered the Petal Box and added a handle.  Also Basic Grey patterned paper.

Yummy cookies are wrapped up in this cute little bundle using the Papertrey Holiday Button Bits.  I gave this tray to Renee's preschool teachers.

Two Hearts

Happy New Year to all!!  Hope everyone had a wonderful time with friends and family.  The season is so full of excitement and busy busy busy... planning, shopping, baking, wrapping, decorating... and then bam, it seems as though it's over in a flash.  It's 2010!!!

I picked up a pack of oversized tags from Archivers in their $1.99 spot; I used a scalloped style in this card.  I've had these hearts punched out for over two years now, yikes, and thought it was time to put them to use.  Hee, hee.
